DURHAM – Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business will address “Innovation and Disruption: Technology’s Role in Transforming Health Care” at its annual MBA health care conference on Wednesday, March 22, at the school on West Campus.
From big data and precision medicine to remote patient monitoring and large clinical trials, technology has contributed to the rapid evolution of health care. The 2023 conference will bring together speakers from a variety of industries, including venture capital, health systems and medical devices, to explore technology’s effects and future directions.
Breakfast and check-in begin at 8 a.m. and the event at 9. The morning keynote address will be delivered by Samir Shah, M.D., health care product executive at Amazon, “Innovation from the Outside: How non-traditional health care companies are changing the landscape.” The address is followed by panel discussions, lunch and product demonstrations until 3:45 p.m., followed by a networking happy hour for all speakers and attendees.
The conference is intended for students, faculty, staff and alumni from Fuqua and Duke University, plus professionals from nearby academic and health care institutions and local and national health care companies.
Pre-registration is required and encouraged by March 15 to ensure enough meals and take-away items are available. There is no cost for Fuqua students, faculty and staff. Registration fees for other Duke-affiliated attendees and non-Duke-affiliated attendees, are $10 and $25, respectively.
Editor’s Note: Amazon recently concluded its $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical. It shut down Amazon Medical at the end of 2022, as previously reported by WRAL TechWire.
