Here’s our exclusive roundup of upcoming events across North Carolina through the end of February. Included are the latest meetups, conferences, workshops, application deadlines and networking events happening in Asheville, Charlotte, the Triad, Wilmington and other parts of the state.

Offered by the Small Business and Technology Development Center, Taking the Leap is a free four-week cohort covering the ins and outs of starting a business, including identifying target markets, writing business plans, running finances and brand marketing.

Code for Durham: Civic Hacking Session

Feb. 7, 7 p.m. (online)

Code for Durham brings together technologists, designers, developers, data scientists, map makers and activists to collaborate on civic technology projects. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

Hosted by the Kepler Team, Novant Health Innovation Lab and RevTech Labs, this event will feature pitches from six digital health startups in front of an expert panel specializing in healthcare and investments. Networking will follow.

Application Deadline: Davidson College’s Nisbet Venture Fund

Feb. 15

Davidson College’s Nisbet Venture Fund is an annual pitch competition for student entrepreneurs and alumni. Selected participants will receive coaching and mentorship before pitching their ventures for a chance to win up to $25,000 at this year’s competition, scheduled for April 19.

PitchBreakfast 10-Year Anniversary Celebration

PitchBreakfast will celebrate its 10th anniversary of providing a venue for Charlotte-area entrepreneurs to present their pitches, get feedback and meet others in the startup community.
