Klick Health is customizing ChatGPT for life science companies with an industry-first free plugin that can search and organize payments made to healthcare providers.

Using its proprietary MedOcean database, which includes Open Payments data collected by CMS, the new KlickRx ChatGPT tool can be downloaded inside ChatGPT Plus — OpenAI’s $20-per-month GPT-4 subscription product — and also used with other AI plugins on the platform.

“For over a decade, we’ve been investing in and developing our own proprietary MedOcean, what we call this platform. MedOcean ingests dozens and dozens of data sources and billions of data points to help us get a 360-degree view of the broader market,” said Klick group chairman and CEO Leerom Segal.

The new AI software tool not only more efficiently organizes the payment data, but can also help identify key opinion leaders in different areas.

“One of the key benefits of working inside ChatGPT with a natural language interface is it just makes the data so much more accessible,” said Klick’s executive VP of applied science Alfred Whitehead. “We’re trying to illustrate how, using these new technologies, you can greatly simplify the process. … We feel this sort of rapidity and ease of use is going to be part of the future of data analysis for everyone.”

Internally, Klick is using the full scale of MedOcean data to “quickly and effectively aggregate information that aligns with things we strategically need to answer for our clients,” chief medical officer Holly Henry said.

The HCP payment data are the first of more expected artificial intelligence external data uses, with others already in the works, Segal said.
