Here’s our exclusive roundup of upcoming events across North Carolina through the end of March. Included are the latest meetups, conferences, workshops, application deadlines and networking events happening in Asheville, Charlotte, the Triad, Wilmington and other parts of the state.

Many events will be held in person, as some organizers are returning to live events. Others will be held virtually and are noted as such.

Application Deadline: NC IDEA SEED & MICRO Grants

Feb. 27, 5 p.m.

Applications are live for NC IDEA’s two flagship grant programs serving North Carolina tech startups: NC IDEA MICRO (small, project-based grants of $10,000) and NC IDEA SEED ($50,000 for startups with a proven concept). Apply by 5 p.m. EST.

Pitch-Space Live in Winston-Salem

Feb. 28, 4:30-6 p.m. @Flywheel Coworking (& online)

In this hybrid event, a group of startups will present their products/services to a panel of investors for feedback. There will also be open networking.

Taking the Leap

Feb. 28, 6-8 p.m. (online)

Offered by the Small Business and Technology Development Center, Taking the Leap is a free four-week cohort covering the ins and outs of starting a business, including identifying target markets, writing business plans, running finances and brand marketing.

Application Deadline: CED GRO Incubator

Feb. 28

Applications are live for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s 12-week GRO Incubator for local life science companies. The program includes weekly classes led by well-known experts, one-on-one coaching and feedback, and more. The next cohort starts in April.

1 Million Cups Lake Norman

March 1, 7:30-9 a.m. @Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (& online)

Every Wednesday morning, entrepreneurs in the Lake Norman area join to present their companies to mentors, advisers and other startups. Join to meet new people and collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs.

Held every week, 1 Million Cups Charlotte features a presentation from a local startup followed by a Q&A from the community.

Tech Slam ‘N Eggs

This hybrid event will feature two to three software developers presenting their tech stacks, their insights and any challenges they overcame. This month’s event will be held live in Concord, with virtual sessions at Flywheel Coworking’s Winston-Salem and Greenville locations.
