New Solution to Improve Mental Health

The recent pandemic has taken a toll on our mental health. From layoffs to new workplace anxieties, people have turned to e-health options for mental health care. We have seen a rapid rise of solutions to meet the demand. One such solution is Calm Health. Calm, a mental health app brand, has introduced Calm Health to offer clinical condition-specific mental health solutions designed to bridge the gap between mental and physical health. The platform follows Calm’s acquisition of Ripple Health Group, a health tech company, in early 2022. 

Using the Calm Health interface, members can screen themselves for anxiety and depression based on validated GAD-7 and PHQ-9 question sets. The questionnaire, when completed, offers easy-to-understand results and options to proceed with appropriate solutions, including Calm Health mental health programs based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. The system can also recommend healthcare professional services. The platform enables users to connect healthcare teams with members, families, and non-sponsored users to improve communication. 

Users get options like setting goals, tracking medication and their side effects, and sharing information with the providers. Through active and passive monitoring, Calm Health also tells your average mood. 

Calm Health will be available to millions to people through their health insurance plan, care provider, or employer. All users will be prompted to complete an in-app survey that will lead them to a plan created specific to their needs. The platform will add more functions in the future to provide behavioral and mental health care support for chronic conditions such as obesity, hypertension, heart disease, and cancer.
