What You Should Know:

  • Suki, the leader in voice artificial intelligence (AI) technology for healthcare, today announced the integration of its AI-powered voice assistant with Epic EHR software using Epic’s ambient APIs.
  • Suki Assistant helps clinicians complete time-consuming administrative tasks by voice and recently announced the ability to generate clinical notes from ambiently listening to a patient-clinician conversation; the integration enables notes to automatically be sent back to Epic, updating the relevant sections.

Suki Targets Clinician Burnout with Epic Ambient API Integration

“Ambient documentation holds great promise for reducing administrative burden and clinician burnout, and we are delighted to work with Epic to deliver a sophisticated, easy-to-use solution to its client base,” said Punit Soni, CEO of Suki. “Suki Assistant represents the future of AI-powered voice assistants, and we are thrilled that it is integrated with Epic through its ambient APIs.”

The launch of Suki’s ambient note-generation capabilities on April 11 expands on the success of the company’s AI voice assistant, already been proven to reduce documentation time per note by as much as 72% in family medicine settings. The solution now offers a comprehensive set of voice capabilities, including ambient note creation, dictation, and command modes, all within a single, affordable solution.

Suki uses generative AI to listen to clinician-patient interactions in real-time and auto-generate clinical notes. Clinicians can easily review and accept, reject, or edit content suggestions to ensure the accuracy of final notes. Once notes are complete, they sync back to Epic, streamlining documentation workflows for clinicians.
