RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – WRAL TechWire keeps tabs on the latest meetups, panels, workshops, conferences, application deadlines and everything happening in the entrepreneurial, technology and business communities in the Triangle and across North Carolina.

Following is a list of events in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the greater Triangle area through the end of May. Many events will be held in person, as some organizers are returning to a live format.

Triangle Small Business Week

April 30–May 6

Headed by Raleigh Chamber and Wake County Economic Development, Triangle Small Business Week returns with several events and resources supporting the local business community.

Raleigh Chamber Business After Hours

May 1, 4:30-6:30 p.m. @Hampton Inn & Suites

Raleigh Chamber’s next Business After Hours event will be held at Hampton Inn and Suites during Triangle Small Business Week.

CIO Executive Roundtable

May 2, 7:45-9 a.m. (online)

In this quarterly session, CIOs or tech strategy executives at NC TECH member companies will discuss relevant topics and developments in their field.

Test Flight Pitch Practice

Test Flight Pitch Practice is an opportunity for early-stage startups to hone their pitch and get feedback from an audience of investors, mentors, customers and other reviewers. Note: This is a hybrid event. 

Downtown Techies Raleigh Happy Hour

1 Million Cups RTP

May 3, 9-10 a.m. (online)

1 Million Cups, presented by Kauffman, is a weekly informal pitch event for the startup community. Join for free coffee and entrepreneurial support as local startups deliver their presentations.

Anatomy of a Trade Finance Deal

May 3, 10-11 a.m. (online)

The North Carolina Small Business Technology and Development Center will host a webinar covering trade finance topics such as landed costs and full vs. variable costing.

Coffee With Leaders

Final Application Deadline: 101 Weston Labs

101 Weston Labs is a new accelerator from Cary-based Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina. The three-month program targets North America-headquartered startups developing solutions for independent insurance agencies. It includes weekly training seminars, coaching/mentoring from experts and entrepreneurs, access to a network of insurtech investors and stakeholders, and connections to independent distribution channels. The first cohort is set to run from June to August.

Fueling the Future of the Small Business & Entrepreneurial Economy
