Hapbee Technologies and Ontario tech company partner for focus-enhancing driving app

Hapbee Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: HAPB) (OTCQX: HAPBF) (FSE: HA1) and a Toronto-based tech firm are set to develop an app that will help drivers focus while on the road.
On Tuesday, the Vancouver sleep tech company and LocoMobi World announced a new partnership for the app’s development that will use Hapbee’s Focus, Boost and Alert biostreams to keep drivers awake and reduce accidents.
Hapbee’s biostreams use a patented ultra-low radio frequency energy that can give users better sleep and improved focus without the need for caffeine or other stimulants.

One of the prospective features of the application is Hapbee signal delivery built into a vehicles seats.
The signals would be activated by biometric data detected through sensors in the steering wheel and driving patterns assessed by vehicle sensor data. Pending further development of the application, the two companies aim to be able to offer the automobile industry an effective means to reduce accidents and improve highway safety.
Many vehicle accidents can be attributed to distracted driving and eight per cent of all fatal crashes are caused by a lack of driver attention, according to the United States Department of Transportation.
“A chemical and stimulant-free solution built directly into the vehicle that delivers increased focus and alertness during long drives has obvious benefits to long-distance trucking, competitive racing and even early morning commutes,” said Grant Furlane, CEO of LocoMobi World.

Building Hapbee’s technology directly into vehicles and integrating with driver biometrics and vehicle data is an exciting prospect for our technology,” said Yona Shtern, CEO of Hapbee Technologies.

Hapbee and LocoMobi are currently in the process of negotiating specific terms regarding ownership of intellectual property, development costs and licensing agreements.
Hapbee also launched a smart sleep pad product in September last year that utilizes the same low-frequency magnetic field bio-streaming technology to help users get better rest.

LocoMobi recently announced that its Worldstream parking management system had been selected as the designated parking management technology for Yellowknife International Airport in the Northwest Territories.
Hapbee’s stock dropped by 10 per cent on Friday to $0.09 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
