Hapbee Technologies, Inc. ( TSXV: HAPB) (OTCQB: HAPBF) (FSE: HA1) has added a new sleep-aid gadget to its repertoire seeking to help people fall asleep easier.

This Thursday, the Vancouver-based digital wellness technology company announced the release of its Hapbee Smart Sleep Pad, which is also powered by Hapbee’s app. The device is also supposed to have an improved efficacy for sleep as compared to the Hapbee Neckband.

The pad is meant to be used under a pillow or as a pillow and is approximately 12 x 18 inches and 0.5 inches thick made of soft material with a foam padded center.

It features a 10-inch coil that is 50 per cent larger than the neckband and has delivered better results due to the larger field radius and “sweet spot” that overcomes movement while sleeping.

As of Thursday, customers can start pre-ordering the pad which will be right on time for the end-of-year holiday season.

According to the firm, over 70 per cent of people living in the United States, suffer from different kinds of sleep disorders such as chronic insomnia or poor quality sleep. This has made people turn to other sleep-caring alternatives outside of medicines or supplements which can cause negative side effects.

A demo of the pad will be shown at the BioHacking Convention at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles, California from Sept. 15-18.

“The Smart Sleep Pad represents a major milestone for our company and for our customers,” Hapbee CEO Yona Shtern said.

“After months of careful research and lots of feedback from our community of users, we are delighted to have designed an effective, natural, user-friendly product designed especially for sleep – our largest category of use,” Shtern said.

“This new form factor provides our customers with the night-time sleep and relaxation solution they have been asking for and is the perfect complement to the Hapbee Neckband for focus and performance during the day.”

The research firm Global Market Insights found that sleep-aid wearable sales reached $12.5 billion in 2020 and are set to triple in five years.

According to a 2021 survey by Rock Health Advisory almost 40 per cent of sleep-wearables users abandoned their devices because they did not see the desired effect.
