Meta-analysis, “Effect of Corticosteroids on Mortality and Clinical Cure in Community-Acquired Pneumonia,” demonstrates that patients who received corticosteroids were found to have a lower incidence of progressive respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation but no difference in mortality or treatment failure.
