Here’s our exclusive roundup of upcoming events across North Carolina through the end of April. Included are the latest meetups, conferences, workshops, application deadlines and networking events happening in Asheville, Charlotte, the Triad, Wilmington and other parts of the state.

Many events will be held in person, as some organizers are returning to live events. Others will be held virtually and are noted as such.

High Power Capacitors: Recent Design Trends & Tips

This online lunch and learn will cover design considerations and parameters for selecting a capacitor for high power applications.

Queens Pitch Competition

March 29, 4-5:30 p.m. @Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts & Civic Engagement

At this event, Queens University undergraduate students will pitch their business ideas to an expert panel for a chance to win up to $5,000.

Hatch 2.0 Grand Opening

March 30, 4:30-7 p.m. Hatch Innovation Hub

Asheville’s Hatch Innovation Hub will celebrate the grand opening of its expanded coworking and office space. Attendees can meet the tenant companies and learn about Hatch’s partners.

Application Deadline: 2023 Environmental Enhancement Grant

March 30

Run by the North Carolina Department of Justice, this program will award grants ranging from $5,000 to $500,000 to nonprofits, academic institutions and government entities to preserve and improve the state’s natural resources. Funds serve land acquisition, construction, planning, education and research. To be eligible to submit a full proposal, applicants must submit a letter of intent by March 30.

Application Deadline: Health Equity Innovation Challenge

March 31

From the Flywheel Foundation, this three-year business competition will focus on ideas that offer solutions to healthcare disparities. The program is expected to build a portfolio of 20 to 30 startups.

Application Deadline: Bunker Labs Veterans in Residence

March 31

Bunker Labs’ six-month Veterans in Residence program links veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs with a community of peers, a nationwide business network, and access to business resources and mentors. The program is hosted out of a WeWork coworking space in select cities or virtually for participants without a local location. Past cohorts have included startups in Charlotte, Wilmington and the Raleigh-Durham area.

Launch Greensboro LaunchCamp

April 1–2 in Greensboro

This weekend workshop will cover the “Lean Startup” approach to business development, offering tips for testing value propositions and feasibility.

CO.STARTERS Getting Started Workshop
