RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Plenty of technology and life science events and program deadlines are coming up across North Carolina in April. Several events will be held in person or in a hybrid format, while many others remain virtual.

Building on WRAL TechWire’s ongoing work tracking important events and deadlines across North Carolina, here’s a look at what’s to come in April 2023:

The Tech Behind Femtech

April 4, 5-7 p.m. @Blush Cowork

RIoT will host a panel discussion on how innovation in women’s healthcare is driving larger trends at the intersection of health care and technology.

Downtown Techies Raleigh Happy Hour

April 4, 5-7 p.m. @Lynnwood Brewing Concern

The Downtown Techies Happy Hour event series is back at Raleigh’s Lynnwood Brewing Concern. Join to network with peers.

Code for Durham: Civic Hacking Session

April 4, 7 p.m. (online)

Code for Durham brings together technologists, designers, developers, data scientists, map makers and activists to collaborate on civic technology projects. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.

1 Million Cups Lake Norman

Nisbet Venture Fund Pitch Competition

April 19

Davidson College’s Nisbet Venture Fund is an annual pitch competition for student entrepreneurs and recent alumni. Selected participants will receive coaching and mentorship before pitching their ventures for a chance to win up to $25,000 at this year’s competition.

IdeaFest Business Pitch Competition [in Virginia]

April 20, 1 p.m. in Danville, Virginia

The Launch Place is accepting applications for its eighth annual IdeaFest, where nearly a dozen finalists will pitch their ideas to judges and a live audience. The top three winners will get $10,000. (Note: The Launch Place is based in Virginia, but it has an office in RTP and invests in Triangle-area startups.) 

Pitch-Space Live at the Cabarrus Center

In this event, a group of startups will present their products/services to a panel of investors for feedback. There will also be open networking.
