“Trauma is too much too fast, where we can’t integrate whatever has happened to us. When you want to heal trauma, it’s helping people slow down and engage with it a little bit at a time so they can digest the trauma.”

Join us for Season 2 of Adventures of the Psyche: an exploration of the emerging frameworks and modalities that support the use of psychedelics.

In this episode, we are joined by Ashley Booth, an associate clinical social worker offering ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. She discusses combining modalities like Hakomi, a mindfulness-centered somatic healing practice, and Internal Family Systems with psychedelic-assisted therapy to help people slow down and process trauma.

Ashley has experience working as a psycho-spiritual retreat facilitator at the Crossroads Treatment Center in Mexico using ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT, has been trained by Compass in psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy and is a consultant for Beckley Psytech for their 5-MeO-DMT-assisted psychotherapy therapy manual in service of upcoming research trials. She is also currently a co-therapist on the Los Angeles Phase III team for the MAPS-sponsored clinical trial of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD.

She is the founder of the Southern California psychedelic society, founder of the Aware Project, co-founder of InnerSpace Integration, and co-founder and clinician at the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy. Ashley is in private practice under the supervision of Darls Centola, LCSW offering IFS and psychedelic integration psychotherapy.

Join filmmaker and host Mareesa Stertz for a brief visit into other realms where guests share personal stories of illumination, healing, and transformation through their use of psychedelics. See more Adventure of the Psyche episodes here.
